Expected impact of the project

The system of business-HEI cooperation is aimed at improving the communication of universities and businesses for social development through reasonable changes in educational process. Therefore the main target group of the project are students, getting the major benefits. The secondary group is the business community, and tertiary are HEI’s. The final groups affected are Ministries of Education of partner countries.  It is important to mention that in the context of the project “local” means impact at the micro level – town or city scale life, business and educational activity. “Regional” means an impact on labor market, or a group of businesses and HEI’s in specified region. “National” means macro level and involves national labor markets, economy and higher education in partner countries.
The graduates would be actively involved during the whole lifetime of the project. The project results in creating a business involvement and alumni infrastructure, curricula redesign, entrepreneurship support, web based services. All these results will involve students directly. It is necessary to note that employment guidance part of the designed web resource would be aimed at continuous cooperation between businesses, alumni and students. This resource will unify Russian and Kazakhstan contacts, ensuring cooperation at a national level. Thus at the local level the graduates would increase their entrepreneurship potential and competitiveness at city or town labor market. At regional and national levels graduate employment and mobility would increase, leading to higher standards of living.
Businesses are also actively involved at all stages of the project. They get the benefit of getting access to cheager knowledge sources and modifying the process of training their future employees. Due to the practical orientation of the project, the businesses will be actively involved into the system operation. It is important to mention that businesses are crucially interested in project outcome due to worsening economic conditions. The project system of graduate preparation would greatly decrease the business expenses for searching excellent candidates and employee probation period at local level. Regionally and nationally this would result in higher possibilities of investment and competition expenditure, leading to hastier development of market economy.
Involvement of HEI’s plays a crucial part of the project. Most of the published outcomes are aimed at changing the educational process at universities. This includes the business-HEI cooperation in EU overview, business requirements survey and methodological hand book for system implementation. Both consortium and other universities of partner countries will participate in discussions upon drafting the system. Locally this would result in greater connections with businesses and increased number of joint projects with them. Regionally and nationally this project outcome would contribute to the creation of education-business clusters, thus increasing the education effectiveness. The latter will further lead to wider attractiveness of HEI’s for potential students and increased stability of HEI’s development.
Finally the ministries of Education of partner countries are also being reached during the project at the first and fourth stages to ensure their support and active involvement. It is presumed that the project outcomes will lead to the modernization of partner countries regulations concerning the cooperation of businesses and HEI. The state regulators themselves would be interested in the recommendations from such a wide range of stakeholders, including EU partners, partner countries HEI’s and business community. Locally, regionally and nationally the project outcome implementation is decreasing the municipal and national expenses for state unemployment subsidies, and at the same time increasing the income through taxation of both graduates and business activity.
